CRSM Units (CRSM 大组别)


5 Units of CRSM

TRAINING are provided to make sure our squad is organized efficiency to enable and facilitate volunteers to respond to emergency or disaster.

(1) TRAINING UNIT

  1. Involved in using funds and resources. Discipline, law-abiding, honesty and piety shall be required.
  2. Involved in human lives. To build up network and resources to enable speedy response and dispatch of news, manpower and funds.
  3. Shall have the sense of responsibility for the welfare of victims and the needy.
  4. Shall be committed to service and stability of our group to prevent high turn over that may jeopardize the efficiency of emergency disaster relief.
 (2) ACTION RELIEF UNIT

  1. Set up by volunteers with the spirit of service
  2. To be the first squad team to arrive at the crisis spot to understand the situation, investigate, coordinate and take action to provide immediate assistance 
 (3) COUNSELING UNIT

  1. Set up by professional psychologists, psychiatrists, counselors and social workers
  2. To help counsel victims of crisis and to assist them to recover
(4) MEDICAL SUPPORT UNIT

  1. Set up by qualified doctors, paramedics and first aides
  2. To provide immediate medical support to the victims

(5) LEGAL SUPPORT UNIT

  1. Set up by professional lawyers
  2. Provide legal assistance to victims

Scope of Voluntary Services (服务志业)

1. Crisis Relief
National and overseas disaster relief (includes natural disaster which leads to loss of lives and material possession that threaten the victims welfare both in materially and psychologically) and provide timely, appropriate relief and assistance.


2. Social Service
CRSM is a set-up to professionally and systematically enhance MCA’s social work together build a caring and loving society that offers help to those in need.


3. Volunteer Training
Take initiatives to plan and design the services and modules needed by the public and provide targeted training schemes for volunteers of different ranks.


(a) Crisis period :
To provide relevant manpower, material, medical, counseling and legal support by setting up a crisis response team for immediate crisis intervention in emergency or disaster

Service Area:
  1. National and overseas disaster relief (includes natural disaster which leads to loss of lives and material possession that threaten the victims welfare both in materially and psychologically)
  2. Emergency relief for victims of domestics and community crisis (includes family tragedies and social issues causing the victims into the crisis of material shortage and psychosocial damage)
  3. Emergency relief for the poor, disadvantage and needy


(b) Non Crisis Period :
Non-crisis period is a period of nurturing potential volunteers. Thus, we ought to spontaneously strategize, plan and organize various relevant services and training suitable to the needs of society, as to boost recruitment drive, fund-raising and maintenance on the relief action team, in order to create a reserve of manpower and services to stand for any crisis.


a. Community Service
Strategize appropriate service to handle current issues of the society or community

b. Community Caring
Provide relevant and timely assistance to the poor and disadvantaged in the society

c. Volunteers Training
Organize common and professional training courses to equip volunteers for various backgrounds by enhancing their capability and knowledge in handling crisis


MEMBERS
(A) Types of Members (志工种类) 


(i) Official members  

MCA members who has been trained and actively involved in CRSM activities

(ii) Backup members


Volunteers who has been trained and actively involved in CRSM activities

In time of emergency, individuals or organizations who are willing to serve

We need to engage these two kinds of members as their assistance is needed in time of emergency.  

Quality Of CRSM Members


Due to the rapid changes of emergency period, all members of CRSM should have:

  1. A ready willingness to adapt to the changing situation and needs of a crisis
  2. A willingness and readiness to go to any destination on immediate notice expertise needed in a crisis
  3. A willingness to adapt to sudden changes in skills and professional
  4. To work together as a team
  5. The ability to handle stress and difficulties
  6. The ability to be sociable
We need:


Self-developed, mature and positive-thinking CRSM members.

Whereas training and professionalism are important, personal characteristics are the determining factors.

  • Corruption, stealing, robbery and doing anything for self gain are strictly prohibited
  • Drugs or alcohol abuse, gambling and fornication are strictly prohibited
  • Disciplined, law-abiding, honesty, piety, loving and caring
